Sore eyes are very common in summer, especially in children and adults. When your eyes are sore, you might feel itchiness and redness in your eyes. We call this soreness in the eyes “Conjunctivitis.” Conjunctivitis is basically a viral inflammation on the outer membrane of the eyeball and under the eyelid. It is basically a common summer infection that turns eyes red and watery with a prickly sensation. It takes at least a week to heal from this viral infection. Many of us believe that using sunscreens and fruit juices will prevent this condition to happen, but this is the partial truth. It can prevent your eyes from scorching heat but not completely. Put on Sunglasses: Sunglasses doesn’t only protect your eyes from scorching heat but also prevent them from dust and dirt. You’re more prone to Conjunctivitis each time you step out. So don’t forget to wear your sunglasses when you step out.
Avoid Eye Contact with bare hands: Breeding of bacteria and virus-causing germs are very high during summer. You must make sure that you’re not transmitting the virus to your eyes by your own hands. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or keep them sanitized. You must avoid touching your eyes or rubbing them with bare hands.
Don’t share eye accessories: We’ve heard “sharing is caring”, but in the case of eyes, say a big no to sharing. You must avoid sharing sunglasses, eye cosmetics or any kind of eye accessories to avoid transmission of germs and virus from one’s eyes to another eye.
Maintain Hygiene: Wash your liners, pillows, towels or bed sheets, etc. in warm water with detergents frequently. This will prevent the breeding of bacteria frequently to keep them neat and clean. You must avoid sharing these items with anyone.
Be cautious in Public: While you’re in public areas such as swimming pools, parlors, malls, cinema halls, or any place, be cautious and keep using sanitizers and tissues to avoid yourself exposing to the virus.
